This month, Infineum’s corporate leaders took half a day off to volunteer at SOFEA, a UK-based social enterprise tackling food insecurity and food waste, while supporting the employability and well-being of vulnerable young people.
The Infineum leaders spent the afternoon supporting core warehouse operations at SOFEA. Alongside warehouse staff, several who are young beneficiaries of SOFEA’s programmes, everyone worked together to unload pallets of surplus goods donated by major supermarkets in the UK. These goods, ranging from food to personal care products, will be distributed to not-for-profit and community organisations like care homes and community kitchens.
The team also fulfilled the picklists of food orders by local charities partnering with SOFEA, picking fresh and dry food products before loading them into crates delivered to these charities helping those who face food insecurity.

At Infineum, we believe in positively impacting the communities where we operate. The Infineum team used their volunteering day to make this volunteering activity possible. The volunteering day is a benefit offered to every Infineum employee, allowing them to dedicate an extra day of annual leave to support their community. This initiative is a crucial part of our sustainability approach and aligns with our commitment to delivering on UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, which focuses on supporting people and communities.
