Accelerating progress in second Infineum Sustainability report

Sustainability - 9 May 2022

Today Infineum publishes its second Annual Sustainability report, which provides updates on performance, including the progress and learnings experienced as Infineum accelerates its sustainability agenda.

The report compares Infineum’s 2021 performance against the previous year and provides an overview of development towards the 2025 targets set in 2020, which cover safety, product development, supply chains, Infineum operations and colleague and community engagement.

As the world changes quickly around us, we remain committed to our sustainability journey and have had some notable successes across the environmental and social responsibility spectrum.
Trevor Russell, CEO Infineum

The report outlines changes made during 2021 which have accelerated Infineum’s sustainability journey.

These include elevating the position of Sustainability Director to the Infineum Executive Committee and the creation of a Sustainability Governance Committee, to ensure sustainability is an integral part of leadership decisions and considered in product portfolio, supply chain and capital choices.

Another milestone is the launch of a new volunteering standard, which allows employees worldwide one additional day of annual leave to deliver a positive impact to communities, either through supporting a local charity or promoting and encouraging Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics skills in future generations.

Last year was pivotal in our sustainability trajectory. We consolidated foundational work and tackled more challenging strategic questions. The 2021 report tracks development in making our purpose ‘creating a sustainable future through innovative chemistry,’ a reality.

I am pleased with our achievements and am excited for what we will do in 2022 and beyond, as we accelerate Infineum’s evolution into a sustainable world class specialty chemicals company.
