Some of our colleagues from Bayway and Linden sites joined forces with Morris Habitat for Humanity to build new homes in Middlesex & Morris counties in New Jersey for local families in need.
“I had a wonderful time working with other women on the Habitat Women’s Build. It was a rewarding and uplifting experience that boosted my mental health. I enjoyed learning new skills, such as cutting and framing mold, filling nails, and caulking around the frames.” Sonia Oberoi, Driveline Technology Manager.
The team faced a hot weather challenge in June, as the temperature reached 100°F. They focused on the interior work of one of the houses they had helped to construct in May. They painted doors and laid flooring to make the house more comfortable and livable.
Morris Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organisation that partners with families, local communities, volunteers and supporters from around the world to provide more people with affordable and safe homes. Infineum typically hold two events per year, and did the Women’s Build in May this year, which the team hopes to continue doing.
“I have been involved with Habitat for a long time and I always feel proud and fulfilled knowing that I am making a difference in someone’s life by helping them get closer to owning their home.” Dena Philips, Driveline Fluids Laboratory Supervisor.
