Jacquie Berryman, Infineum’s EMEA Industry Liaison Advisor, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Verification of Lubricant Specifications (VLS).
VLS is an independent membership organisation providing a credible and trusted means to verify lubricant specifications. Members are lubricant manufacturers, marketeers and any user or seller who operates in the UK lubricants marketplace. Its mission is to protect and educate the end user; support fair and open competition; and determine the validity of finished lubricant performance claims and technical specifications in a fair and equitable manner.
Jacquie has been a member of the Supervisory Board of VLS since 2015, and in her new role as Chair she will be supporting the lubricants industry through the transition to alternative fuels, the implementation of Euro 7 automobile emissions standards and maintaining VLS’s track record in addressing non-compliant lubricant products and trading practices.
Jacquie said: “VLS has a significant role to play in helping lubricant manufacturers and marketers to navigate a complex and changing market. We must also continue to support and educate end users by upholding industry standards, ensuring that retail consumers are protected and that workshops can fit products with confidence, whatever type of vehicle or engine they are working with.”
VLS Company Secretary David Wright says: “We look forward to working with Jacquie and continuing VLS’s work to ensure consumer confidence and trust in the UK lubricants industry.”
